DIC's Role
Opening 20th-Century Art to the Public and Passing It on to Future Generations
DIC regards it as a long-term corporate responsibility to make its collection of 20th-century art accessible to the public and to pass it on to future generations. The collection centers on outstanding postwar American art, including works by Mark Rothko, together with closely related European and Japanese artworks.
In addition, DIC will fully advance its support for art conservation by leveraging the expertise it has cultivated as a chemical manufacturer. To ensure the continuous implementation of conservation initiatives, DIC has established the "Institute of Art Conservation Chemistry (IACC)". Through this organization, the company will undertake the protection of cultural assets and the creation of new value, striving to achieve both meaningful social contribution and the enhancement of corporate value.

Toward Support for Art Restoration
The damage sustained by the Rothko Chapel during the hurricane in July 2024 once again underscored the growing risks posed by climate change and their impact on cultural assets.
In response, DIC and the Rothko Chapel have agreed to conclude a strategic partnership aimed at supporting the restoration of the damaged artworks and safeguarding these important cultural assets.
Going forward, DIC will provide support by leveraging the specialized expertise and technologies of a chemical manufacturer, including the supply of materials required by conservators.
